An Evening with Elvis

21st September 2024

The rafters were well and truly rocking at St George’s on 21st September. We packed the place and Mike Nova did a terrific job which got people up and dancing. A big thank you to those who supported the event - we hope you enjoyed it - and a special thank you to those that helped on the day or came by just to help us get it set up.

The raffle was also a big success with lucky winners walking away with a Fire Kindle and an air fryer amongst other prizes.

Town Hall Coffee Morning

1st June 2024

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising coffee morning at the Town Hall on 1st June. The tombola was a big hit and the cakes went down a storm as usual. Any cakes left over were taken to a local church the following morning and sold off. We raised just over £470 which will be match funded.

Virtual Speedway Racing

22nd May 2024

It was all go at the Speedway Racing fundraiser. The races were only a couple of minutes long which didn't give much time for the team to collate the bets, work out the pay out and divvy it up between the winners!

There was a definite buzz in the room with some people proving particularly lucky on the night! As well as the races, the night included a raffle and heads and tails. We raised over £500 which will be match funded.

Newbury Racecourse

22nd July 2023

Our team were out and about collecting donations on a very wet race day.  Thanks  to the generosity of race goers on the day we raised in excess of £1,500 which will be match funded by the Good Exchange.

Coffee morning at the Town Hall

29th April 2023

The sun was shining at this year's annual coffee morning which brought lots of people to the marketplace which the Town Crier expertly directed towards us.  There were plenty of cakes on offer as well as great prizes on the tombola.

Virtual Speedway Racing

21st April 2023

Members, family and friends turned up for a fun evening at the Bowlers Arms.  Eric, our speedway racing expert, pulled together a mixture of races and attendees had to guess the winning motorbike with the winners sharing in the takings for the races.

21st May 2022

Following the sell out success of Paul Mayhew-Archer's stand up show - Incurable Optimist - on 2nd April, we were delighted to welcome Paul back for another evening of comedy at St George’s Hall, Newbury on Saturday 21st May.

Paul’s observations of both life and the challenges of Parkinson’s brought smiles and laughter to the audience whilst raising a great deal of money for the branch.

With matched funding courtesy of the Good Exchange we raised in excess of £7,000 over the two evenings.
