VOICE THERAPY

People with Parkinson’s can find they have problems with the volume and clarity of their speech which can make it difficult for others to understand them.  Clinical guidelines say that people with Parkinson’s should have access to speech and language therapy, and it is recommended this should be provided as soon as possible after diagnosis. A speech and language therapist can provide useful information about possible problems that may occur, how to spot them and what can be done about them.

Celia Bacon is a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Parkinson’s and is also a Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT LOUD®) qualified clinician. LSVT is for those with Parkinson’s disease.
